CURRICULUM VITAE MICHAEL J. MOLONEY Mr. Moloney has been involved in Arizona real estate since 1972, and Nevada real estate since 2002. He is a practicing broker with his own firm, First American Property Advisors, Inc., with offices in Phoenix, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada. He specializes in commercial buyer/investor and tenant representation, land acquisition and assemblage. Mr. Moloney is also President of the Commercial Real Estate Institute, Inc., the Southwest’s only commercial brokerage-oriented real estate school, with classroom facilities in Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, and other locations. He also assists residential buyers, focusing in North Scottsdale and Fountain Hills, where he lives. Prior to owning and operating his own firm, for three years, he managed a medium sized commercial brokerage specializing in buyer representation, AzCom Properties, Inc. AzCom had both commercial and residential divisions. Prior to that, he was an investment sales and land broker with CBS Property Services (which has now been absorbed by CB Richard Ellis) and Del E. Mike was for over 12 years one of the senior instructors at the college. He has taught over 80 different courses, including pre-licensing for real estate sales and broker licensing, and over 20 different law classes (although he is not an attorney). It is conservatively estimated that at least 1 out of every 8 real estate licensees in Maricopa County has been a student of Mike's at least once in the last 20 years, and that 2 out of 10 commercial agents in Las Vegas has been his student in advanced post-licensing courses. In 1997, Mike founded the Commercial Real Estate Institute, Inc. “CREI”, as the Institute is commonly known, is the largest commercial real estate school in the U. S., offering four professional certification programs, with over 80 courses. As President of the Institute, Mike teaches a wide array of “Specialized Courses for Commercial and Investment Specialists”™ including real estate law, agency law, real estate contracts, leases, land development, financing, and a range of brokerage practice classes. The Institute also sponsors one-time high profile Commercial Real Estate Forums™, and in-house training for brokerages and trade associations, such as the Central Arizona CCIM Chapter, Arizona Commercial Brokers’ Association, and local REALTOR® associations throughout Arizona and Nevada. In 1978 he was personally involved in the revisions of the then recently enacted Arizona Residential Landlord Tenant Act. He has taught courses on the Act, as it has been revised over the years. In 2001, he was also involved in the passage of the Arizona Commercial Broker Lien Act. He has one of the highest name recognitions within the real estate profession in Metro Phoenix. From 1996 to 1997, He was the host for The Real Estate Show, a live caller participation radio talk show on Arizona’s most listened to talk radio station, KFYI. The show was the #3 most listened to weekend radio show in metro Phoenix at that time. From 1986 to 1990, he was Editor of the Arizona Journal of Real Estate and Business. He has also published articles in a variety of commercial real estate subjects, in publications such as Commercial Lease Update, Arizona Business Gazette, Valley Real Estate Digest, and Commercial Real Estate Bulletin. His involvement in the real estate community has been enhanced by his multiple appearances in real estate seminars held throughout the Valley on a regular basis, at which he serves as either a moderator, panelist, or Master of Ceremonies. In addition to brokerage practice, over the years Mike has also worked in the fields of land development, residential development, urban redevelopment, housing management, commercial property management, appraisal, and land planning. From 1972 to 1978, he was the administrator and Director of the City of Tucson's Housing Inspection Division, and oversaw not only the enforcement but also the actual drafting of Tucson's Housing Inspections Ordinance. During that period, he also oversaw the review appraisal operations of the federally funded community development programs, and managed a residential development and redevelopment program. He is a polished public speaker, exhibiting both confidence and professional depth in virtually all areas of real estate. He has been actively involved in the Phoenix Association of REALTORs®, in which he held two chair posts, and was Director of the Arizona (state) Association of REALTORs®. He has been a member of the highly prestigious Professional Standards Committee of one of the largest REALTOR® associations in the U.S. He has been trained by the Arizona Association and National Associations of REALTORS® and is certified as a Mediator for real estate dispute resolution among buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants, both residential and commercial properties, as well as inter-broker disputes.
